Now, the clever engineers at Microsoft trained the Kinect with millions of videos of human body movements (using a technique called Machine Learning), so the system knows how to map out your skeleton as your body moves. The Microsoft product Xbox 360 Kinect firstly was made for playing games but while becoming popular people realized that it can be used in more serious ways.
The first and the more effective way of using the Kinect is to help disabled people. For sure it gives them a chance to feel like others and to enjoy the life. Using the Kinect they can virtually do activities such as playing tennis or swimming which they are unable to do in the real life.
Secondly the Kinect is being widely used in medicine particularly in diagnostics and surgery. Doctors use the device , while they operate on patients. It was the first time I`ve heard about Kinect. I think it`s one of the most useful inventions in recent years. I would like to play with it, because it will be a new experience for me. The major advantage that the Kinect has with its motion recognition is no controller. All the motion is recognized from natural body motions. You can search through the selections on the screen by just switching your hands backwards and forwards, which may take a little getting used to. Voice recognition! Just imagine saying “Hello” to your Console and it responds back to you or activates without you pressing any control keys.
However some assert that all of Microsofts boasts will go for naught if it isn’t going to operate with its future games. Until now the mini games have been great, but is this actually just a gimmick disguised as innovation. Loads of the game titles that will work with the Kinect being released are developed for kids and not really the hard core gamers. The kind of functionality may also pose issues, because it is still a work in progress.
Who could think that technologies so will be improved!

Not surprisingly that it's ultimate dream for children and teenagers all over the world.We used to think that the XBox 360 Kinect is just the ordinary video game console, but do we're actually right in this: it’s just a very expensive toy or it’s something more than just entertainment?
First of all, this video game console gives you a totally new way of playing video games – using not just only your arms, but also your whole body and even your voice. What is more interesting than just playing with a joystick. The second advantage of using Kinect is that with it you can do fitness without leaving home. This is especially useful for those people who simply do not have time to visit the gym. There are a great amount of advantages of the Kinect.
First of all Kinect is small and very easy to use. Kinect uses advanced entertainment technology that responds to the sound of person voice. Just need to say ‘Xbox’ to reveal it.
The other good point is that playng Kinect impose person to do physical activity. Controller-free gaming means full body play. Kinect responds to how person move. Kicking, waving, jumping are the ways of playing. All that mean that playing person does sport and lives healthy.
The other but the most important point is that Kinect greatly helps in medicine. Doctors in Sunnybrook Hospital, Canada, use the XBox 360 Kinect, while they operate on patients. They wave their hands to rotate and manipulate X-ray images of the patient's body without leaving the operating table - saving time, saving lives. The Kinect is a year old this week, and it is very exciting to see it being used in amazing ways, beyond just games.
In spite of all advantages there are some disadvantages too.
Kinect is extremely expensive technology to use. The sad fact is not all families can afford it because of its high cost. The same problem is with country government that can't buy modern and pricey equipment for the surgery.
To sum up, I'd like to say that everythng has its good and bad points but Kinect has a long and excellent future that will make life of all people much easier than it is today.

Microsoft Xbox Kinect is the newest technology that is used in many ways. At the beginning it was used only as a game console but some intelligent doctors learned how to use it in their profession. Many surgeons use this console in their medical imaging computer to look the X-ray scans.
I think that Kinect has a nice prospect. This technology may be used in other parts of our life. For example, in architecture or engineering. Engineers may use this technology to project their ideas and ingenious buildings or constructions. They may test their projects and walk inside the constructions without building it. Using Kinect in that way, architects will save huge amounts of money and time.
Kinect may be also used as an automatic house guard. When the person wants to enter the door he has to do some movements. At first he has to stay in front of the place and make “special” movements, so computer could recognize him, after that he will be scanned and computer will decide to let the person enter or not. Only after these operations the person will be able to go into the building. This method of house protecting will give 100% defence against thieves.
To sum up I`d like to say that the Kinect technology is the greatest invention in cyber world for last 10 years. People have already found many ways to use it to help people. But nobody knows the future, so maybe this technology will be used in absolutely different way.
